REKINDLING THE FLAME
The LCR Project partners with local homeless shelters to provide an entertainment and dining experience for couples who reside at their facilities. The purpose of this event is to build healthy relationships among married couples who may have stress and other mental challenges. Healthy marriages are good for couples’ mental and physical health and affect the growth of their children. Growing up in a happy home protects children from mental, physical, educational and social problems. Because our couples are able to get away together to focus on their relationship, they go back to the shelter feeling renewed and inspired to make the necessary progress to be self-sufficient. The children also notice the difference in the spirit of their parents. As a result, some of the stress in the household is diminished.
POP UP DATE is an extension of Rekindling the Flame- One couple per month will have the opportunity to dine at a popular restaurant.
COMING SOON: Relationship Counseling
HOLIDAY SLEIGH
The LCR Project partners with community organizations to bring to our communities an initiative entitled, “Holiday Sleigh.” We collect necessities such as toiletries; household items, furniture, and cleaners; and baby items to donate to pre-identified families in under-served communities. Carolers sing carols throughout the neighborhood while Santa Clause and his elves deliver the items to families.
COMING SOON: Save and Enterprise
PAULA & PEARL
Paula and Pearl: a facility that will house cancer patients and provide emotional and physical support, wigs, hair pieces, and beauty enhancements to those patients in the underserved communities. In 2018, La-Zondra C. Randolph, Esq., teamed up with Latawn McGee, LCR Project Board Member, to create Kalon Karisma Hair and Beauty, LLC. (KK Beauty). After researching the industry, they saw that the marketplace has a need for viable services and products that will help women from all backgrounds and for every occasion, particularly cancer survivors and women dealing with hair loss from various skin conditions.
